Frequently Asked Questions

What do you need help with?

We do not advise on what time of day is best for photography as the lighting conditions vary from location to location. We have designed our photography hours to deliver the very best results to you from 9 AM to 5 PM local time.

Yes. We shoot rain or shine so that agents can get their photos regardless of the weather conditions. We do our best to avoid scheduling on days when the weather forecast bodes heavy rain. In case of heavy rain, our photographer will reach out to reschedule the photoshoot free of charge. We include our “Blue Skies Guarantee” service with every order at no charge, so you never have to worry about rainy or cloudy conditions. With this service, we digitally replace cloudy or rainy skies with blue skies to give your photos their best appearance.

Yes. Even though you will receive an email confirmation, the assigned Focused Aerial photographer will contact via phone 24 to 36 hours prior to the appointment to confirm the listing is ready as well as any specifics that may help make this a successful session.

No. Please note that we photograph your listing “As Is.” Insurance restrictions prohibit photographers and videographers from providing maintenance, cleaning, staging, landscaping or repair services at the appointment, so we kindly request that the property be in photography-ready condition when we arrive. Please be sure to allow adequate time for any staging or landscaping services to be completed prior to the appointment. For detailed information, download our Home Prep Checklist (create link to the checklist download)

Photoshop is an awesome tool with a lot of power. However, nothing replaces making sure the home is photo ready when the photographer arrives. Photoshop does not clean dirty windows, clean floors, put the kids toys away or play gardener. Keep in mind that the home will look as good in photos as it does in person. See the Focused Aerial preparation guide for great tips that you can provide the seller with. If you need extra editing done, then we can do this for an extra charge.

Should you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, kindly do so no later than 8:00 PM Pacific Time of the day prior to the appointment at no charge. If you reschedule or cancel your appointment after 8:00 PM Pacific Time of the day prior to the appointment, a Late Notice Fee of $99 will be assessed to your order. This Late Notice Fee applies to reschedules, cancellations and postponements for any reason. We shoot rain or shine, so please verify that the weather conditions will meet with your approval ahead of time. We include our “Blue Skies Guarantee” service with every order at no charge, so you never have to worry about rainy or cloudy conditions! Your photos will be delivered into your account the next business day after the photoshoot. When media is delivered, Focused Aerial grants to you a non-exclusive, royalty-free license for use of the images, video and other media created for you for a term of 1 year. You are free to use this media to carry out normal business tasks associated with offering real estate properties to the public for sale or lease. This includes uploading the photos to your MLS, uploading videos to YouTube, printing brochures, creating social media postings, etc. This pre-approval to use the content in an unfettered manner also makes it unnecessary for Focused Aerial to complete photography authorization forms required by some MLS organizations. Focused Aerial retains a limited license to use the images and media it captures for its own marketing purposes.

As a general guideline, plan for at least 60 minutes. The length of a photoshoot depends on the numbers of photos ordered in the photo package as well as the size of the property.

If you need help posting the photos to your MLS listings, please contact us to discuss options available to you.

If the client wants us to take photos inside a closet, then we will. But normally, we recommend not photographing closets. It does not always look great to show piles of clothing or your sellers’ private items in photos. But if you want a photo taken of closet(s), then we of course do it.

Yes, all our Drone Operators are Licensed by FAA (Federal Aviation Administration Part 107 Certification) as required by law. Also, all our Drone Operators also have Liability Insurance. We take safety and Drone Regulation very seriously. In some areas we are not allowed to fly the Drone (restricted airspace), which may require extra FAA Waivers. In these cases, we will apply for the Waivers. In case we are not allowed to fly, we will notify you and your money will be fully refunded.

All Drone flights for Commercial use, such as Real Estate, are required to comply with the FAA Regulations and Laws. There is a risk being fined by the FAA and local governments for any violations of the law if you use a Drone Photographer that does not have the required FAA License or Liability Insurance. Fines can be up to $250,000 per violation.
